About Órlaith-Máiréad 

Órlaith-Máiréad gained her Honours Degree in Law at Edinburgh University in 2021 and returned to Edinburgh to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Practice in 2023. 

Prior to joining Thompsons, Órlaith-Máiréad held an internship at a firm engaged in criminal defence and civil litigation. 

Órlaith-Máiréad joined Thompsons in 2023 as a Summer Student and thereafter became a Trainee Solicitor in the Road Traffic Accident Team. She later joined the Life Impact Team, focusing on high value fatal and catastrophic injury cases.

Expertise

Órlaith-Máiréad is now a Solicitor within the specialist Life Impact Team handling complex and sensitive cases, including claims arising from catastrophic accidents, fatal accidents and historic child abuse.

Órlaith-Máiréad has experience assisting in pre-litigation and litigated cases, which often proceed to the National Personal Injury Court and the Court of Session. She also has experience in handling applications to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority.
