Thompsons Solicitors is one of Scotland’s leading law firms, known for championing the rights of workers, trade unions, and individuals seeking justice. As part of our commitment to modernising the way legal services are delivered, we are expanding our Technology team and seeking a Senior ShareDo Developer to lead platform development at an exciting time.

This role is ideal for an experienced developer with a strong background in case management platforms, workflow automation, or legal technology. You will take ownership of ShareDo development, drive technical strategy, and mentor junior team members while delivering meaningful projects that support real improvements across the firm.

About the Role

As a Senior ShareDo Developer, you will lead the development and configuration of our ShareDo case management platform. You will design and implement complex workflows, automations, and platform enhancements that support legal teams across Scotland, while mentoring junior developers and shaping our technical direction.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Leading the configuration and development of ShareDo workflows, screens, rules, and data structures.
  • Collaborating with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions and architectural decisions.
  • Owning platform troubleshooting, performance analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establishing and maintaining testing standards, documentation practices, and deployment processes.
  • Architecting and implementing integrations between ShareDo and other systems across the firm.
  • Staying ahead of platform updates and driving the technical roadmap for how we leverage ShareDo across the organisation.
  • You will have the autonomy to shape technical decisions and the opportunity to mentor and develop junior team members.

What We’re Looking For

This role requires an experienced professional with a proven track record in platform development, workflow automation, or legal technology. We expect you to bring technical leadership, problem-solving expertise, and the ability to drive projects from conception to delivery.

You should have:

  • A degree in computing, information systems, software development, or another technical discipline, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with workflow automation, case management platforms, or digital transformation projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to design scalable solutions and make sound architectural decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers and contributing to team development.
  • Proficiency in scripting, databases, and system configuration. ShareDo experience is highly desirable but not essential.

What We Offer

  • Advanced training in ShareDo configuration, architecture, and best practices.
  • The opportunity to lead technical initiatives and shape the direction of our technology strategy.
  • A collaborative environment that values technical expertise and innovation.
  • Competitive salary and benefits.
  • The opportunity to work on technology that directly improves outcomes for clients and front-line legal teams.
