Carl began his career at the Disability Rights Commission, which later became the Equality and Human Rights Commission, where he worked within the legal casework team. He joined Thompsons England in 2010 and has since dedicated his career to representing Trade Unions and their members.

In January 2024, Carl joined Thompsons Scotland as part of the Employment Team. He represents members in a wide range of employment matters, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing detriment, union detriment, and unlawful inducements. His current caseload primarily involves members of PCS, POA, RMT, and the BMA.
