About Laura
Laura is a Partner and head of our Survivors Department and Mass Litigation Department. Laura is a Law Society of Scotland Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law and has been shortlisted for award of Lawyer of the Year 2022 at the Legal Awards in November.

Expertise
Specialising in civil litigation, Laura has vast experience pursuing cases in the Court of Session, ASPIC and local Sheriff Courts. Laura works closely with charities and trade unions and her diverse workload includes cases involving child abuse, product liability and general mass litigation. Laura has also spent many years specialising in accidents at work, industrial diseases, noise induced deafness, work related stress, and road traffic accidents.
Laura has experience of appearing at Fatal Accident Inquiries and Scottish Tribunal hearings and has represented clients in relation to CICA applications (Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority) since beginning her career at Thompsons in 2006.Awards
In 2022, Laura was awarded the prestigious title of Scotland’s Solicitor of the Year at the Law Awards of Scotland. Laura beat four other nominees to the title and was commended for her work with survivors of historical child abuse and a group of tea pickers in Kenya who suffered horrific working conditions which led to devastating health problems.

Recent Cases
Laura currently specialises in pursuing compensation, or civil justice, for survivors of historical abuse. Laura has been lead solicitors in the main two leading Court of Session cases which have tested this developing area of law:-
Involvement in these leading cases, in addition to ongoing training in relation to providing a trauma informed service, have made Laura a leading expert solicitor in this field of litigation.
