ABOUT

After completing her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Strathclyde, Catriona joined Thompsons in June 2023 as part of the Survivors Team where she assisted in preparing applications to Scotland’s Redress Scheme. She commenced her traineeship within the specialist Life Impact Team in August 2023.

EXPERTISE

Throughout her traineeship, Catriona worked exclusively within the Life Impact team at Thompsons. In this role, she managed a varied caseload consisting of historical child abuse claims, catastrophic injury cases, as well as applications to Scotland’s Redress Scheme and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority. She also represented clients in hearings at the Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal.

Catriona is now a Solicitor within the Industrial Disease team where she specialises in asbestos-related disease cases where clients have been negligently exposed to asbestos through former employers. She manages a case holding consisting of pre-litigation claims and litigated cases raised in the All-Scotland Personal Injury Court and Court of Session. 

Catriona has undergone trauma-informed training and incorporates this into her work to ensure clients are treated with care and understanding throughout the civil compensation process.
