Paralegal in pre-litigation - Lung Disease Department
Samantha started with Thompsons in the contact centre in 2012; she dealt with initial enquires for all departments, but predominantly personal injury claims. In 2016, after returning from maternity leave, she was offered the opportunity to train as a paralegal and further her career.
Having embraced the challenge, Samantha is enjoying the job and all it entails. She finds her role extremely satisfying and loves nothing better than seeing a successful outcome for her clients and their families. She has found that an ability to communicate with clients, most of whom are going through a very difficult time, is essential in this area of work to ensure that they can be confident in placing their trust in her. Client care is extremely important to Samantha and she loves this aspect of her job within the lung disease compensation team.
Asbestos can have devastating effects on families and Samantha feels honoured to be able to help her clients seek justice in claiming against ex employers for their negligence.
Samantha works within the pre-litigation team assisting clients who have been diagnosed with pleural plaques. Preparing a case consists of a number of different avenues that must be pursued, always with a view to obtaining a settlement prior to litigation.
Investigating companies that haven’t been trading for many years is something Samantha relishes, then finding insurance cover for them and finally bringing the case together to obtain redress for the clients.
