About Matthew

Matthew joined Thompsons’ lung disease team in April 2023 after completing a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice.

Prior to working in Thompsons Matthew was working as a legal executive in a busy residential conveyancing firm. Here he developed his skills in the analysation and preparation of legal documents and strove to provide clients with a seamless experience from start to finish.

Expertise

During his Diploma, Matthew gained further interest in Personal Injury law and decided to pursue a traineeship at Thompsons. Matthew is passionate about fighting injustice and aims to do his best for clients who have been exposed to asbestos at work through no fault of their own.

He enjoys interfacing with clients, is driven by client satisfaction and strives to get the victims of asbestos exposure and their families the compensation they deserve. Matthew assists case handlers at the pre-litigation stage, investigating claims for clients who suffer from a variety of asbestos related lung conditions, ranging from pleural plaques to mesothelioma.

Qualifications

2.1 in Scots Law (LLB) at the University of Strathclyde in 2019.

Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Dundee in 2023.
