About Amy
Amy joined Thompsons Solicitors Scotland as a Partner in 2025, with extensive experience in personal injury litigation. Amy is now the Head of Department for our Life Impact team.
Expertise
Amy specialises in high value traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and amputation cases. She deals with a variety of personal injury accidents, including road traffic cases, employers' liability cases, and occupiers' liability cases. She is experienced in litigating in the Court of Session, National Personal injury Court and Sheriff Courts.
Amy's background in acting for clients who have suffered life changing accidents and her trauma-informed approach, allow her to provide specialist support to her clients and colleagues within the firm's Life Impact Team. The team are dedicated to pursuing justice for survivors of historical abuse, individuals who have suffered catastrophic injuries and families who have lost loved ones in fatal accidents. Amy continues to work on serious injury cases and fatal cases, in addition to applying her specialist expertise to ensure clients who have suffered profound and far-reaching impacts as a result of abuse receive uniquely tailored legal support that acknowledges and addresses the complexities of their traumatic experiences.
Qualifications
Amy is a graduate of both Glasgow Caledonian University, where he obtained her Bachelor of Laws (Hons) Degree, and the University of Glasgow where she obtained her Diploma in Legal Practice.
Professional Memberships and Qualifications
Amy is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and is a Notary Public. Amy is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Personal Injury Law, and by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers as a Senior Litigator. Further, she is certified by the Law Society of Scotland as a Trauma-Informed Lawyer and on Legal Technology. Amy is a Tutor for CLT Reparation Course at CLT Scotland, sharing her broad knowledge with future legal professionals.
