ABOUT

Meryam joined Thompsons in 2023 following completion of the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Strathclyde. She completed her traineeship with Thompsons and now continues her role in the Life Impact Team.

Prior to joining Thompsons, Meryam gained valuable legal experience through roles and internships at firms specialising in criminal defence, civil litigation, and immigration law.

During her time at university, Meryam was committed to public service and access to justice, demonstrated by her involvement in student representation and volunteering within the university community.

EXPERTISE 

Meryam is a Solicitor in the Life Impact Team, which specialises in complex and sensitive cases. She has worked exclusively on historic childhood abuse claims, a focus that began during her traineeship and has continued to shape her practice. 

Meryam has experience in both pre-litigated claims and litigated cases raised in the National Personal Injury Court and the Court of Session. She also has experience handling applications to Scotland’s Redress Scheme and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority.

Meryam is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of her clients and is committed to providing a trauma-informed approach throughout her work.

Alongside her casework, Meryam is an active member of Thompsons’ Social Committee, where she helps organise events that promote a positive workplace culture.
