Me and Solicitor Greg Whyte at Thompsons currently have a number of compensation cases against TUI travel, also known as ‘First Choice Holidays’ in regard to gastroenteritis and other stomach complaints caused by bad hygiene.
These compensation claims, mostly against the Sarigerme Holiday Village in Turkey, are for people who have had their holidays ruined due to unnecessary illness.
These are among hundreds of other compensation actions across the UK against TUI travel.
It was therefore no surprise to see this week that another TUI resort, the Bahia Prince Hotel in the Dominican Republic faced compensation claims totalling in excess of £35 Million from disenfranchised holidaymakers, ranging from the upset to the extremely ill to the permanently injured.
The compensation claims in relation to this Dominican resort date back to 2007 and have, after stalling and avoidance tactics by TUI travel, reached court.
The level of hygiene in these resorts ranges from vomit, faeces, urine as well as rodent and insects being found in some of the most disgusting places. I shall spare you the details here!
Thompsons are committed to seek justice for those injured through sickness or accident whether at home or abroad.
I will keep you update how the cases progress.
