My right ankle is dislocated and broken in two places,

so-

How you can get out of a car and say, "Oh, for God's sake, the two of yous, get

up," when there's obviously someone there with injuries?

It was on this busy Glasgow road that Rory Donaldson and his

guide were knocked down. The 32-year-old is deaf, blind,

and was on his way back from the Royal Infirmary after an appointment when his

mum, Doreen, took the call that her son had been run over.

Told he was in an accident, and that there was an injury.

But at that point, I didn't know what the injury was,

and it wasn't till hours later that I was

told that he'd actually dislocated his ankle and

broke two bones in his ankle as well.

It soon became clear that this was far from a normal road traffic

accident, with the driver of the vehicle getting out and

chastising Rory and his guide as he lay in the road

with broken bones.

How you can get out of a car and say, "Oh, for God's sake, the two of yous, get

up," when there's obviously someone there with injuries?

Now,

Rory's deaf, blind guide for that day had her

tire tracks on her black boots that she was wearing.

So you can see that there was obviously an issue,

but nobody wanted to deal with it.

Doreen and Rory chose to take action, and like many of our clients, it

was never about money, but about justice and accountability.

Would never have pursued this had that woman got out of her car

and actually said, "Oh my God, what have I done?

How can I help?" Accidents do happen every day of the week,

but her response was what pushed me into saying, "No, this is

unacceptable."

Thompsons have now supported the family to secure significant

compensation and get the answers that they deserve.

Do you know, I cannot fault them. They've kept me informed at

every

stage of the whole process. I cannot fault either of the two

of them.

They

kept you informed. They're very nice to speak to.

Every time they'd done anything, I would either get an

email or a phone call. They're like my wee boys.

I mean, they're probably grown men, but they're like part of the family.
