Thompsons Solicitors has won praise from Chambers the country’s leading law directory - the firm’s third major accolade in a row.
Chambers rate Thompsons who win over £50m in compensation for clients every year, in Band 1, the highest band, for its work in the highly specialist field of personal injury, mainly representing claimants.
The latest commendations from the highly respected researchers at Chambers follow a similarly high Band 1 rating from the Legal 500 law profession guide.
To top off the year Thompsons was voted the Law firm of the Year, (over 50 fee earners), the major category in the Firm Magazine’s prestigious Law Awards of 2009.
In this year’s guide Chambers commend Frank Maguire, Thompsons’ senior partner for his “advocacy, client handling and management of catastrophic claims”. Chris Gordon, Managing Partner of Thompsons in Aberdeen is described as “a central figure in the Scottish legal community”.
Chambers describes Thompsons as a ‘highly acclaimed practice’, and adds: “Now firmly entrenched in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, this trade union favourite is lauded for being outstanding, tenacious and value for money”.
Mr Maguire said: “It is always good to know that our work is recognised in the profession and by colleagues whose views the researchers canvass to form their ratings.
“But the views we value most are those of our clients, whom I thank for putting their faith in Thompsons.
“The fact that we recover over £50m a year in compensation for our clients is testimony to the professionalism of Thompsons’ team of highly qualified and specialist solicitors and solicitor advocates, and their equally dedicated support staff.
“These levels of compensation also speak volumes about our dedication and commitment to winning the best possible settlement for those we represent”.
