It was a fantastic night for Thompsons Solicitors at the 2017 Law Awards. After what’s been a very successful year for the whole firm seeing the hard work of our staff reflected in these awards was highly significant.
Lindsay Bruce senior lawyer from The Mass Litigation Team won Solicitor of The Year. Louis Madden from Thompsons’ Employment Law Department won Young Solicitor of The Year and the firm’s Lung Disease department won Litigation Team of The Year.
Commenting on her award Lindsay Bruce said “ I deeply honoured by this award and would like to thank everyone at Thompsons who has supported me. The work our team do supporting many clients who have suffered huge pain and injury through either faulty medical devices or through historic abuse is very challenging but is work we all relish. I would also like to thank the many charities and support groups we work with without whose help the department would not be the great success it is.”
Managing Partner of The Mass Litigation team Patrick McGuire commented “Lindsay thoroughly deserves this award. Her dedication to her clients who are amongst some societies most vulnerable people is a testament to her empathy and kindness. She works extremely hard for our clients and has built huge levels of trust among the many charities who now work with us on issues like historic abuse.”
Reacting to her award Lois Madden reflected “I would like to thank everyone in my department for the opportunity to work in Scotland’s leading employment law firm. It’s a great working environment and there is huge opportunity for me to gain more experience and develop my career at Thompsons.
The work done by Thompsons’ lung disease department is of primary importance to the firm.
Laura Blane, partner in charge of the team, said: “Its wonderful to see this hard working, talented and dedicated group of professional being recognised by such a prestigious award.
“The work is complex and challenging but I continue to be immensely proud of their efforts and the great service they provide for our clients and their families.”
