A farm worker who sustained personal injury in an explosion at a farm near to Isle Abbotts has received compensation.

Mr Arek Kuchczynski was carrying out maintenance on a compressed tank of air and hot water when it exploded. The accident tragically killed one worker and caused four others to sustain personal injury.

Mr Kuchczynski received compensation for the injuries and losses he sustained as a result of the accident. He suffered serious personal injuries to his head. He suffered first degree burns and required skin grafts.   He continues to work and live at the farm and is said to have a good relationship with it.  He stated that he was pleased to be alive following the accident and that he wanted to put the event behind him.
