After learning of the sad death of Dr Campbell Christie CBE - former general secretary of the STUC and president of the SCDI, partner at Thompsons Solicitors, Patrick McGuire, said:

"Today the Scottish Trade Union movement has lost a giant.

"His deep commitment to public services, the rights of workers and the victims of injustice was an inspiration. He will be sorely missed.
