A teenager has received a sentence of 100 hours’ community service and a one year driving ban after causing a road traffic accident in which his passenger was killed.
18 year old Daniel Evans from Wales died, and two other passengers were severely injured during the accident which happened in earlier this year in February.
The 18 year old driver, Jack Hughes, had previously admitted causing death by careless driving at a previous court hearing. He must now re-take his driving test and pay court costs.
At the time of the road traffic accident the four friends were planning to have a night out in Chester and were apparently waving their arms to music. However, after an oncoming car passed their vehicle, the car veered towards the side of the road. The driver then lost control of the car which ended up turning over and crashing.
The driver escaped the car crash with minor injuries but the others were not so fortunate.
The police accident investigator concluded that the case involved a momentary loss of control.
