The Road Safety Foundation has just produced a report which confirms that Scotland has the highest average risk rating for road traffic accidents in the whole of the UK.

Scotland accounts for 25% of the total length of road surveyed for the report and has the highest risk motorway and road network of all the British regions with12 % rated in the higher risk categories.

The survey found that 1 in 9 of all British fatalities occurred in Scotland.  It was also reported that 10% of Britain’s motorways and A roads have an unacceptably high risk.
