Jade Goody’s family have received £35,000 compensation in an out of court settlement in relation to a court action that was raised over photographs taken at the reality star’s private burial.

Seven family members were claiming the compensation as they claimed that the photograph was an invasion of privacy and a breach of confidence.  Although the funeral was very much a public affair, The People newspaper published a photograph showing a group of mourners at Goody’s burial which was supposed to be a private event.

In addition to paying the family compensation, MGN Limited and Newspics Limited gave undertakings to the family that they would not use the photographs again in the future.  MGN Limited has also written to the family to apologise for the distress caused.
