Superglass, an insulation company based in Stirling, has been fined £20,000 for health and safety lapses after a worker had an accident on site.

The employee, Fraser Adams, fell more than 10 feet when he was knocked from an unguarded walkway by a hose.  He was not wearing a harness.  As a result of the accident he sustained an injury to his face as he fell onto the concrete floor and hit his face on a skip.

An investigation was undertaken by the Health and Safety Executive and they found that the firm had failed to provide a safe system of working.  There was also an additional failure which led to the accident as Adams had also not received training in the use of safety harnesses.

Health and Safety rules are in place to help prevent accidents.  If you have had an accident at work due to a breach of Health and Safety rules contact our specialist lawyers on 0800 0891331 and we will advise you if you have a valid claim for compensation.
