Thompsons Solicitors pledged their support to the decision of the High Court in London which branded Corby Council in England “extensively negligent” for allowing the town’s steelworks to continually produce atmospheric pollution likened to an “atmospheric soup of toxic materials”.
The pollution had lead to 18 people developing birth defects the High Court today agreed. This decision clears the way for these families to claim compensation from the Council who were found (pending appeal) to be guilty of public nuisance, negligence and breach of statutory duty.
