The Royal Automobile Foundation unit has called for a special ‘road crash investigation’ unit to be set up, similar to those which investigate rail, air and maritime incidents.
The Foundation’s Director, Professor Stephen Glaister commented:
“Historically, road accidents are analysed by individual police forces with the emphasis on finding out if anyone has broken the law. Identifying the underlying causes of crashes seem to be of secondary importance.”
Thompsons Solicitors obtain compensation for families and victims daily who have suffered devastating changes to their lives due to road traffic accidents. Any consultation with a view to improving safety on our roads is welcomed.
