Our client, Mr Thomas Reid, was working as a site manager on the date of his accident in the Govanhill area of Glasgow.

Thompsons Solicitors in Scotland were contacted by Mr Reid's union, Unite, to handle the road traffic accident claim.

The background

On 5 June 2019, Mr Reid had been driving his work vehicle, a white Ford Transit van, along Cathcart Road in Govanhill towards traffic lights. As he stopped for a red light at the turning into Aikenhead Road, a third party vehicle failed to stop and collided with the back of Mr Reid's vehicle.

The back doors of our client's vehicle were dented and the rear bumper was pushed in.

The consequences

Mr Reid suffered soft tissue injuries to his neck which took approximately six months to heal.

The third party's insurer admitted liability and settlement was made post litigation in the sum of £3,275.
