I saw such an inspirational story today in the papers about an Aberdeen woman, Lorna Harper, who said she feels like the Bionic Woman after doctors practically rebuilt her after a road traffic accident. The series of operations she received have not only saved her life after a horrific crash near Banff last year but helped her make an impressive recovery.
In the accident she broke her sternum, pelvis, both arms and legs and eight ribs and according to reports, doctors were worried that she wouldn’t make it through the night. Thanks to the doctors she’s now making an impressive recovery and she told the papers “Getting on a plane is going to be a nightmare because of all the metal in me.”!
The story I think reminds everyone of just how much any accident can turn your life and those of your family upside down in an instant. It can happen to anyone and if it does it’s good to know that there are people out there to help get you out.
