I was pleased to hear that according to official figures the number of people who sustained injuries in road traffic accidents fell last year. The statistics published are however, only based on incidents, which were reported to the police.
Looking at the official figures reported I was shocked to see that there was still 13,324 reported road casualties last year and tragically 208 people died as a result of road traffic accidents in Scotland alone.
Transport Minister Keith Brown set a target of zero road deaths and I hope that this target is reached and Scotland’s roads become safer and safer.
Unfortunately road traffic accidents do still occur regularly. Thompsons are all too aware of the effect injuries caused by road traffic accidents have on the lives of individuals and their friends and family. They help drivers, passengers, and pedestrians claim compensation for injuries and losses sustained as a result of accidents which were not their fault.
