I am delighted that my colleagues here at Thompsons Solicitors are involved in supporting Will Aid. Will Aid is an annual charitable Will-Writing scheme designed to remind people of the requirement to have a Will drawn up by a professional who in turn, waive the proceeds of the charge for the benefit of participating charities.
Thompsons is one of many Solicitors throughout the UK involved in the scheme that invites clients to donate the fee that they would usually pay the solicitor for the charge to the partner charities under the Will Aid banner. This year, the suggested minimum donations are £90 for a single Will and £125 for a pair. Last year over £2 million was from the initiative.
If you have never made a Will this is a fantastic opportunity to engage in the process and ensure that the proceeds of what you would ordinarily have to spend on the service, go to a good cause. In turn you will also have the security of knowing that your estate is protected and will be distributed in accordance with your wishes
The proceeds will prove essential in benefiting each and every one of the charities which include Christian Aid, NSPCC, Action Aid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Save the Children and SCIAF.
My colleagues here in our Executry Department at Thompsons Solicitors have very kindly volunteered to donate their time and expertise in good faith and it is hoped that our clients reciprocate that good faith by donating to the cause.
