Lynsey McGarrigle – Facilities Assistant
How long have you been with Thompsons?
I have been with Thompsons for over 6 years.
Which team and office are you based in?
I work in the Facilities team, and I am based in the Glasgow office.
Professional Journey:
What inspired you to pursue a career at Thompsons?
I previously gained experience in a solicitor's office, but when I saw the opportunity to join Thompsons Solicitors, I was immediately interested. I was aware of the impactful work Thompsons had done and was eager to be a part of it, helping clients receive the compensation they deserve.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Now that I’ve transitioned to a role in the facilities team, I no longer work directly with clients. Instead, I focus on maintaining the office for our staff, which I really enjoy. Every day is different, and this role has allowed me to connect with colleagues on a more personal level.

What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
One of my interests outside of work is doing nails. I am trained in nail care and now enjoy doing nails for my family and friends.

My favourite TV show at the moment is Friends!
What advice would you give to someone starting at Thompsons?
My advice for anyone starting at Thompsons is to always be yourself. Attend Thompsons events and take the opportunity to meet colleagues from different teams—everyone is friendly and always willing to help if you ever need anything.
Any tips for maintaining a good work-life balance?
My advice for maintaining a good work-life balance is to avoid overworking yourself. Focus on the most urgent tasks, and remember that the rest can wait until the next day.
What’s your dream travel destination?
My dream travel destination is Hawaii.
