Graeme Higgins – Filing Supervisor
How long have you been with Thompsons?
I have been with Thompsons for 9 Years
Which team and office are you based in?
I am the Supervisor of the Filing Team and I’m based in the Glasgow Office
Background & Interests:
Where are you originally from? I am from Coatbridge and still live there now.
Professional Journey:
What inspired you to pursue a career at Thompsons?
I previously worked for a smaller personal injury solicitors however when I saw the opportunity to join Thompsons Solicitors, I was immediately interested. The opportunity to work with one of the leading personal injury firms in the country was a decision that was easily made.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy the fast paced environment and the fact that no two days are the same within the office.

What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
I have a keen interest in sports including Football, Darts and American Football however have decided that these are best viewed than played due to a ‘dodgy knee’! I also enjoy spending time with my wife and 7 year old son, Harry, and holidaying abroad.
What do you think makes the Thompsons team special?
All of the varied personalities within our team equal a happy working environment.
Do you have any hidden talents or unusual skills?
I have been known to give a good rendition of ‘The Gambler’ on karaoke!!
What’s something interesting about you that most people don’t know?
On my stag do, I ended up in A&E with a torn knee cartilage after 37 seconds of playing “bubble football” and almost ended up on crutches for my wedding!
What motivates you to do your best at work?
Are there any career goals or aspirations you're currently working toward?
Favourite book, movie, or TV show?
My favourite movie is Shawshank Redemption.

“There’s no such thing as a silly question”
What advice would you give to someone starting at Thompsons?
My advice would be to be yourself and let your personality shine through. Don’t be afraid to ask if there’s something you are unsure about.
Any tips for maintaining a good work-life balance?
Prioritising is key. What can’t be done today can always be picked up tomorrow.
What’s your dream travel destination?
I would love to travel to Australia so I can tell my son that I’ve taken him to the other side of the world.
