Solicitor Stewart White is hoping to help put a smile on the face of third world kids, and honour his late mother’s memory, by running the Paris Marathon on Sunday April 11.
Stewart is on course to raise £3,000 for the Smile Train, the charity that treats cleft palates in youngsters in developing countries, where the condition can have a devastating effect on their lives.
Stewart who works for Thompsons Solicitors in Edinburgh said: “My beloved mum Julia had a cleft palate, but she had the benefit of living in a developed country and had surgical and other support which enabled her to lead a normal life”.
“I can’t think of a better way to honour her memory than by raising money for the Smile Train, her favourite charity.”
