At Thompson’s we would like to reassure all our clients that as far as possible we are operating as normal. The health and safety of our staff and clients is our primary concern during this outbreak and as such we are reviewing the situation on a regular basis and will be adapting our working practices following government guidelines. However, we have had to make some minor changes to how we are doing things.

Following Government guidelines, we have temporarily closed all of our offices and our staff are now all working from home using secure technologies to ensure they are able to continue to progress with existing and new cases as normal. All face to face meetings have been cancelled, however we are continuing to hold these meetings via phone and video calls. All the team are contactable on their direct dial numbers and email should you need to speak with your solicitor, please do not hesitate to talk to us about anything during this time.

We know these are uncertain and unsettling times for many of our clients, and the wider population, and things might look a little different for the foreseeable future. But our focus remains on our dedication, knowledge and strength that we provide to all our clients. We will continue to provide updates over the coming days and weeks in accordance with official guidelines and to keep everyone informed of the situation.

As always, for any concerns, advice and updates on your case; Talk to Thompsons.

Xray of Radius and Ulna bonesPersonal injuries will often have serious, potentially devastating, consequences on the victim, not to mention their loved ones who will have to cope with the long-lasting effects.

There are many ways in which a personal injury may have left an impact on your family. Perhaps your child suffered whiplash in a road traffic accident. Or you caught cryptosporidium during a holiday abroad. Or maybe you tragically lost a loved one in an accident at work.

The different types of personal injury

'Personal injury' is a very general term, covering a large number of illnesses and injuries, sustained in a huge variety of circumstances.

But generalities do not work in personal injury compensation cases; the exact specifics need to be established. This is because some types of accidents and injuries are more complicated than others, and also because the value of any compensation award depends on the severity of the injury, and the part of the body affected.

There is a connecting link between all of these types of personal injury, however: they can all put the victim under some degree of physical, emotional, and financial stress.

Establishing the facts

You have to focus on the specifics when you are claiming compensation for personal injury. That is why Thompsons' personal injury lawyers will question you in detail about the facts and background to your case. They need to know exactly what happened to you, when and where it happened, and the extent of your suffering.

Our solicitors gather all the necessary evidence and information surrounding the case with just one purpose: to help you receive the fair amount of compensation you deserve. Once they know the facts, they will be able to give you the best possible personal injury claim advice.
