Danielle Ormond's bid for justice after she survived a gas explosion at the Drumtochty Arms at Auchenblae, Aberdeenshire, moved a step closer after it was confirmed that her case for compensation is to be heard at the Court of Session in Edinburgh.

Miss Ormond, who was working as a barmaid at the Arms, suffered serious injuries after being caught under rubble following the blast including a collapsed lung, a number of broken ribs, fractured vertebrae in her neck and back, damage to her jaw and teeth, multiple cuts and post -traumatic stress disorder.  Her injuries still plague her years after the event and she continues to have to take prescription painkillers to do everyday activities and sleep.

Both the hotel owner and gas company who were working on the premises at the time of the incident are being pursued for damages.

"The pain in my back is going to be a factor that will affect me for the rest of my life.  I still need prescription painkillers to go about my day to day life and get some sleep.
