A woman has recently received compensation after being struck by a car while walking on the pavement.
She had been out walking near her home when the accident occurred. As a car turned the corner in front of her it mounted the pavement and hit her. The impact caused her to sustain a fractured leg and as a result she had to undergo several reparatory operations. After the operation she had to wear an ilizaroz frame for 6 months which caused her severe discomfort and greatly reduced her mobility. She still struggles to walk normally which has had a detrimental effect on her life.
Because of these factors she decided to seek compensation from the driver who crashed into her. The driver’s insurer agreed to settle and she received a settlement of £125,000. This compensation was paid to cover earnings which she had lost as a result of the accident and also to allow her to adapt her home and car. She will also use the some of the compensation payment to for ongoing physiotherapy treatment.
