About Grant

Grant graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2016 with a degree in Politics and International Relations. Before embarking on a legal career, he spent time working in the medical device industry. He went on to study the Graduate Entry LLB at the University of Edinburgh, graduating in 2020, and completed his Diploma in Professional Legal Practice in 2021.

During his time at university, Grant was actively involved in the Free Legal Advice Centre, offering legal support to members of the public. He also served as a Student Leader for Edinburgh Law School’s Peer Assisted Learning Scheme.

Grant joined Thompsons Solicitors in 2021 as a Trainee Solicitor after spending the summer of 2019 with the firm. He decided to join Thompsons due to their strong commitment to representing individuals and their long-standing history of campaigning for clients’ rights.

Beyond his casework, Grant plays an active role on Thompsons’ Charity Committee, contributing to the firm’s wider efforts to support social causes and engage with the community.

Expertise

Grant began his traineeship in the Road Traffic Accident Team, focusing on high-value fatal and catastrophic injury cases. He later joined the Life Impact Team, where he qualified as a Solicitor.

He now works within a specialist team handling complex and sensitive cases, including claims arising from historic child abuse and catastrophic or fatal accidents. Grant has experience pursuing both pre-litigated and litigated cases, which often proceed to the Court of Session and the All-Scotland Sheriff Personal Injury Court.

He is particularly committed to securing justice for clients through a trauma-informed and empathetic approach.
