Thompsons solicitors have committed to helping Ryan Williamson, whose son Ciaran was killed in a Glasgow cemetery, at  the Fatal Accident Inquiry into his death.

Ryan’s application for legal aid was turned down, and he was very upset at the prospect of never finding answers about what happened to his eight-year-old son.

Speaking to Glasgow Evening Newspaper the Evening Times, Ryan described his son  as his “best pal” and said he was completely focused on getting justice for his son. Thompsons Solicitors have offered to represent the family without charge after the request for funding, and the appeal, were rejected by the Scottish legal aid board.

Eilish Lindsay from Thompsons Solicitors, who will be representing Ryan, said “When we became aware of Ryan’s situation and the fact he wouldn’t be represented at the inquiry we were concerned.

“This law firm has a great deal of experience of FAIs and we also have a proud record of helping vulnerable families in their dealings with the justice system.
“ It’s very important that Mr. Williamson has someone by his side to try and get the answers he needs about his sons tragic death. ”

Ryan said: “No words can describe how thankful I am to Thompsons for taking on the case. It feels as if I can push for answers now that Thompsons are going to be my side.”
