Dundee Leisure who run the pool where schoolboy Luke Hutton, died in September 2007 have been fiend £40,000 for Health and Safety breaches.

The 7 year old drowned at the Olympia Leisure Centre in Dundee.  His body was found in a section of the water which had been covered for the night, after he had been reported missing.

The prosecution heard how the lifeguards had not been given adequate training in how to monitor the pool.  Luke could not swim and he had managed to go to the deep area of the pool and disappeared from view after entering what has been described as a blind spot.

The company admitted failing to ensure that the lifeguards were adequately trained to ensure that every angle of the pool was supervised.
