Asbestos related diseases are commonly associated with those who worked in the shipyards or who worked in industry in the last half of the 20th century.

Sadly however, I am seeing more and more cases on a daily basis of those seeking compensation for exposure to asbestos amongst people in professions.

Amazingly, asbestos related disease amongst teachers is four times as prevalent as it was in 1980!  This is due to the fact that old, worn out schools, originally made with asbestos are now crumbling – exposing those who work in them to asbestos dust.

If you are a teacher, or know a teacher, please tell them to raise any issue with building work within their school immediately.  Asbestos is the silent killer, unless you are aware of its possible presence, it could be too late.
