What are the requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998?

Under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations, work equipment is defined as "any machinery, appliance, apparatus, tool or other installation for use at work". The operators of all types of machinery that might pose a scalping injury risk must comply with these regulations. For example, all of the following equipment is covered:

• Presses and cutters
• Shaping tools
• Workplace vehicles
• Power drills

How much compensation can you claim for a scalping injury?

Scalping injury accidents invariably involve some level of facial disfigurement. Personal injury law used to draw a distinction between facial disfigurement injuries suffered by men and those suffered by women, on the basis that the impact was more traumatising for women.
