Road Traffic Accident Claim Secures £3,275 for Site Manager Injured in Rear-End Collision
Mr Thomas Reid, a site manager, received £3,275 in compensation after suffering neck injuries in a road traffic accident in Glasgow. Thompsons Solicitors Scotland pursued the claim after he was referred by his union, Unite, following the collision with a third-party vehicle.
What happened
On 5 June 2019, Mr Reid was driving his work vehicle, a white Ford Transit van, along Cathcart Road in the Govanhill area of Glasgow.
As he approached traffic lights at the turning into Aikenhead Road, he stopped his vehicle because the lights were red.
While stationary, a third-party vehicle failed to stop and collided with the rear of Mr Reid’s van. The impact caused damage to the vehicle, denting the back doors and pushing in the rear bumper.
Injuries and Impact
As a result of the collision, Mr Reid sustained soft tissue injuries to his neck.
His symptoms persisted for approximately six months before resolving.
Outcome
The third-party driver’s insurer admitted liability for the accident.
Thompsons’ specialist solicitors for motor accidents pursued the claim on Mr Reid’s behalf. Following litigation, Thompsons secured £3,275 compensation for the injuries he suffered in the rear-end collision.
