Good Samaritan's car roof removed after offering shelter to crash victims

A good Samaritan might be regretting her good deed after attempts to help two car accident victims has left her possibly needing her own car crash lawyer. Janice Dunlop may need legal help to ensure an insurance payout to replace her car after she agreed to its roof being cut off to allow the safe removal of two car crash victims.

Ms Dunlop witnessed a road accident on the A27 near Arundel involving a lorry which overturned crashing into two cars. She stopped to try and help the people involved And thinking she was acting for the best she allowed two of the injured to take shelter in her car whilst waiting for paramedics to arrive.

During the wait for the paramedics to arrive at the scene of the car accident the two injured began to develop neck pain. After assessing their condition the paramedics decided the only route out of Ms Dunlop’s car would be on spinal boards to avoid any further injury.

However, it soon became clear that the only safe way out of the car would be through the roof! Ms Dunlop agreed to the roof of her car being removed so that the injured, who were now in her car, could be taken out on spinal boards.

It has been reported that Janice Dunlop is unsure if her insurers will replace her car given the roof was removed voluntarily. It would have to be a pretty heartless insurance company who would refuse the pay out given the selfless act and the fact Ms Dunlop was in no way to blame for the accident or the outcome of the accident. However, if they decide not to accept the claim then Ms Dunlop could be needing the service of a good solicitor to help her get her own car crash compensation.
