Michael is an associate at Thompsons and a qualified solicitor advocate - he represent clients in the higher courts and advises on their cases. He is currently a member of the road traffic team.
Following his qualification as a solicitor in 1997, Michael then joined Thompsons 1998 to specialise in claiming compensation for victims of personal injury.
Expertise / Particular areas of Interest
Between 1998 and 2009 Michael was a member of the accident team at Thompsons, handling mainly cases arising out of accidents at work. He regularly recovered £1 million in total damages per year.
In 2003, he was appointed an associate and in 2004 took over the supervisory responsibilities of his own small team, as well as increasingly acting as a solicitor advocate for clients.
From 2009 to 2013, Michael concentrated on solicitor advocacy full time, both for the accident and road traffic teams.
Michael joined the road traffic team in 2013 with his own caseload, but he continues to undertake solicitor advocate work for the team. Since 2011, he has been involved with claims for reimbursement of replacement vehicle charges to victims of non-fault road traffic accidents.
He appears regularly in the Court of Session and Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland.
