About Annie

Annie graduated with a First Class Honours degree in law in 2016 having achieved the Douglas W Vick Prize, which is awarded to the Best LLB Student at the University of Stirling. After graduating from the University of Edinburgh in July 2017 with her Postgraduate Diploma, Annie started working as a trainee case handler in the recoveries services team at a national law firm based in Edinburgh. This involved taking cases from placement to completion by using litigation and enforcement. Annie’s experience of advising at the Citizens’ Advice Bureau and Free Legal Advice Centre has developed her ability to identify the key concerns and aims of clients.

After gaining this invaluable experience, Annie started her traineeship in the Road Traffic Accident team at Thompsons Solicitors in 2018. She enjoys her role within the team and the satisfaction that it brings when achieving positive outcomes for clients. She has a passion for interacting with people and enjoys assisting them. Annie appreciates that the time following a car accident can be challenging and sensitive for many and endeavours to make the process of making a claim as straightforward as possible. Being bilingual in Mandarin and English means that she can help bridge a cultural gap in the community and her language skills help Mandarin-speaking clients get the advice and justice they need.

Annie believes in campaigning for change and achieving justice for victims of road traffic accidents. She always strives to achieve a favourable outcome for clients, so that they receive the compensation and justice that they deserve.

Her work involves assisting the team with personal injuries arising out of road traffic accidents. She is involved in both pre-litigated and litigated cases which can progress to the Court of Session and the All-Scotland Personal Injury Court.
