Nicola started working with Thompsons in 2015 when she commenced her traineeship within the Private Accident Team.
Prior to working at Thompsons, Nicola worked as a Project Manager for two years at her local Citizens Advice Bureau on a project aimed at helping individuals deal with the Welfare Reforms implemented by Government. This work involved providing practical advice, guidance, and support to individuals at all stages of their welfare applications, as well as representing clients at appeals tribunals. She was also a member of the local Welfare Reform Group, who liaised with DWP representatives to suggest and implement changes in the processes that affected her clients. The success of this project was acknowledged by local MPs in newspapers at the time, and as a result the funding continues to date. Nicola advises that she found it very rewarding to carry out this role, as she is passionate about working in a client support-focussed environment and helping individuals who are in need of her assistance.
Since starting her traineeship with Thompsons, Nicola has been involved in dealing with many accidents at work claims, public and occupier’s liability claims, as well as some serious and fatal accident claims. She provides assistance in cases both pre-litigation and also when they have been raised in Sheriff Courts and the Court of Session.
Nicola values the ethos that Thompsons employ in helping the victims only.
