At Thompson’s we would like to reassure all our clients that as far as possible we are operating as normal. The health and safety of our staff and clients is our primary concern during this outbreak and as such we are reviewing the situation on a regular basis and will be adapting our working practices following government guidelines. However, we have had to make some minor changes to how we are doing things.

Following Government guidelines, we have temporarily closed all of our offices and our staff are now all working from home using secure technologies to ensure they are able to continue to progress with existing and new cases as normal. All face to face meetings have been cancelled, however we are continuing to hold these meetings via phone and video calls. All the team are contactable on their direct dial numbers and email should you need to speak with your solicitor, please do not hesitate to talk to us about anything during this time.

We know these are uncertain and unsettling times for many of our clients, and the wider population, and things might look a little different for the foreseeable future. But our focus remains on our dedication, knowledge and strength that we provide to all our clients. We will continue to provide updates over the coming days and weeks in accordance with official guidelines and to keep everyone informed of the situation.

As always, for any concerns, advice and updates on your case; Talk to Thompsons.

Thompsons for: Dedication, Expertise. Empathy

Thompsons Solicitors in Dundee

Thompsons Solicitors on Whitehall Crescent in Dundee includes a team of specialists who can help injured parties and their families with the legal fallout following serious injury in a work, car or other public liability accident. Talk to Thompsons

Although no amount of compensation can turn back the clock and take away the trauma and suffering caused by serious or fatal injury, it can at least help smooth the management of the difficult practical and financial consequences while also offering some form of recognition by holding those responsible to account. As a firm, we only ever represent claimants in these situations and are committed to fighting for justice for those who deserve it.

Our expertise

Thompsons' serious accident claims solicitors in Dundee are here to help you in the event you or someone close to you has sustained a catastrophic injury – this includes claims for fatal injury made by bereaved families who have lost loved ones due to the negligence of another party.

We know that starting a legal claim at such a difficult time is not something that can be treated lightly. We work to minimise distress for our clients so they can move forward on the process with full confidence in the advice and support they receive. Although we are robust litigators, we are sensitive in our interactions with clients and make this one of our most important priorities.

Furthermore, by offering a no win no fee service, we help you stay free of any unforeseen costs. If your claim is unsuccessful, you are protected from all possible costs, fees and disbursements; if you win, you pay a pre-agreed proportion of your settlement. This no win no fee agreement is available for the following types of claim:

  • Accidents in the workplace
  • Accidents on the road
  • Cycling accidents
  • Hazardous substance accidents
  • Amputation claims
  • Spinal injury claims
  • Head injury claims
  • Aviation claims
  • Maritime claims

This is by no means an exhaustive list, so why not contact the Thompsons team in our Dundee office to see if you could make a serious injury compensation claim.

Time limits

There are strict time limits in place for personal injury claims in Scotland. In most cases, claims must be made within three years of the date of the incident or three years from the date at which the extent of the injury became known.

Children who have sustained injury or who have lost a loved one to a fatal accident have three years from the date of their 16th birthday to commence a claim.
