At Thompson’s we would like to reassure all our clients that as far as possible we are operating as normal. The health and safety of our staff and clients is our primary concern during this outbreak and as such we are reviewing the situation on a regular basis and will be adapting our working practices following government guidelines. However, we have had to make some minor changes to how we are doing things.

Following Government guidelines, we have temporarily closed all of our offices and our staff are now all working from home using secure technologies to ensure they are able to continue to progress with existing and new cases as normal. All face to face meetings have been cancelled, however we are continuing to hold these meetings via phone and video calls. All the team are contactable on their direct dial numbers and email should you need to speak with your solicitor, please do not hesitate to talk to us about anything during this time.

We know these are uncertain and unsettling times for many of our clients, and the wider population, and things might look a little different for the foreseeable future. But our focus remains on our dedication, knowledge and strength that we provide to all our clients. We will continue to provide updates over the coming days and weeks in accordance with official guidelines and to keep everyone informed of the situation.

As always, for any concerns, advice and updates on your case; Talk to Thompsons.

Can I claim compensation from Mercedes?

If you have or had an affected Mercedes vehicle, you could be entitled to compensation.

Which vehicles are affected by the Mercedes emissions scandal?

At this time the known affected vehicles are mainly Euro 6b and Euro 5 diesel. Our team are happy to check this for you.

Can I register for more than 1 vehicle?

Of course. We expect each vehicle to be treated as its own claim.

My Mercedes was bought second hand, can I still register with you?

You can as long as it was purchased prior to June 2018.

I no longer have my vehicle, can I still register?

Sure. There may well be multiple claims for the same vehicle, each person’s claim is their own.

What Information do I need to register?

At this stage we only need your registration number. You can register your interest by calling our team on 0800 0891 331 or completing the form below.

My Mercedes is a company vehicle can I still register?

You can, however if the vehicle is in your company name only and purchased outside of Scotland we may need some more details from you. Our team will advise if there’s anything further we need.

How much compensation will be payable?

It is too early on yet to value the claims, and may be variable depending on length of period owned, vehicle model, any loss of use etc. We will always achieve the maximum amount of compensation for our clients.

How much will it cost me to register?

Nothing at all. We act for you on an entirely no win no fee basis.

What are your fees?

The maximum you will pay is 36%, which is paid to the underwriter of your case Quantum Claims. This ensures that if the claims are unsuccessful you will not pay anything.
