No Win No Fee Solicitors get on their bikes to help cyclistsStaff at Thompsons Solicitors are getting on their bikes to ensure they offer better legal services to injured cyclists.

Six of the firm’s solicitors and support staff undertook a thorough eight hour Cycle Commuter Course run by Cycle Scotland.  The course, which helps improve confidence and skills when cycling on everyday roads, covered everything from cycle safety to basic bike maintenance.

Partner at Thompsons Solicitors, Patrick McGuire, said:

“This initiative is what Thompsons Solicitors is all about – understanding our clients and providing the best expertise to deliver for them.

“It’s great to see our teams in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen rising to the challenge and doing something positive to enhance their cycling knowledge and skills.

“If you have a cycling accident you rightly expect that your claim is dealt with professionally and with you in mind.  That’s exactly what we offer at Thompsons Solicitors.”

Associate Solicitor, Victoria Aquino, based in Thompsons’ Glasgow office, praised the scheme:

“I cycle a bit but like most people I really felt like I could do with some formal training.  The scheme was great and I would definitely now feel more confident out on the road.

“At Thompsons Solicitors a growing number of our cases are cycling accidents and they have specific needs so having first hand experience of the possible dangers really helps us do the best for our clients.”

Lawyer, Rozanne Galloway, from Thompsons Aberdeen, said:

“Cycling on the roads can be pretty hazardous and Aberdeen is no exception.

“There are things to look out for as a cyclist that you might not in a car so it makes sense to get out on your bike and understand the dangers for yourself.  At Thompsons that’s exactly what we’re doing.”

Solicitor, Vicki Miller, from Thompsons’ Edinburgh office, said:

“More and more people are cycling to work and I can see why; it’s cheaper and more convenient than the car in the city and it’s good for you but it’s important that people do it safely.

“More and more of our cases at Thompsons are cycling accidents and we’re always making sure that we have the right expertise to offer the best service to our clients.”
