Scotland’s leading personal injury firm and asbestos disease specialists are making a final appeal for people to make text donations to help support asbestos victims.

The call comes as staff from the firm’s offices across Scotland prepare to take part in this Sunday’s Great Scottish Run.

The 12 strong team of runners from the Law Firm of the Year are among the first participants to use the “text giving” service, which they hope will raise significant funds for Clydeside Action on Asbestos.

The text service allows you to donate money directly to Clydeside Action on Asbestos through your mobile by texting “CAAG25” followed by a donation of either £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 to 70070.

One of the runners and partner at the firm, Laura Blane, said:

“Clydeside Action on Asbestos does great work for the victims of asbestos and their families.  It’s a great cause so people should text in as much as they can.

“Some of us at Thompsons have been training more than others, but I’m sure we’ll make it all to the finish line.  It’s great to be able to raise money to help the victims of asbestos.

“At Thompsons Solicitors we don’t just go through the courts to get justice for the victims of asbestos, we’re committed to supporting groups like Clydeside Action on Asbestos who help them through such a difficult time.

“The legacy of asbestos in Scotland claims so many lives and turns families’ lives upside down.  Every donation makes a difference so text in as much as you can.”

Phyllis Craig from Clydeside Action on Asbestos, said:

“I am delighted that Thompsons Solicitors are running to help us support the victims of asbestos across Scotland.

“Too many families are still suffering from the consequences of the use of asbestos.  We are here to do all we can to help these families and make sure that we never forget the dangers and damage asbestos causes.

“I would encourage people to text in whatever they can to help us in our efforts.”
