Mr Hamilton recently received compensation after being involved in an accident at work. As a result of the accident he was left with a broken finger.
The accident at work happened when Mr Hamilton was operating the tail lift of a van which was parked in the company yard. It was at night and the yard was only dimly lit. The previous driver of the van had parked too close to a junction box, and as the tail lift came up Mr Hamilton’s index finger became trapped between it and the junction box.
This resulted in his finger being fractured and caused him to require surgery. He was forced to take 4 weeks off work and during that time found it difficult to complete simple household tasks. To this day he still has tenderness and sensitivity in his finger.
