At Thompson’s we would like to reassure all our clients that as far as possible we are operating as normal. The health and safety of our staff and clients is our primary concern during this outbreak and as such we are reviewing the situation on a regular basis and will be adapting our working practices following government guidelines. However, we have had to make some minor changes to how we are doing things.

Following Government guidelines, we have temporarily closed all of our offices and our staff are now all working from home using secure technologies to ensure they are able to continue to progress with existing and new cases as normal. All face to face meetings have been cancelled, however we are continuing to hold these meetings via phone and video calls. All the team are contactable on their direct dial numbers and email should you need to speak with your solicitor, please do not hesitate to talk to us about anything during this time.

We know these are uncertain and unsettling times for many of our clients, and the wider population, and things might look a little different for the foreseeable future. But our focus remains on our dedication, knowledge and strength that we provide to all our clients. We will continue to provide updates over the coming days and weeks in accordance with official guidelines and to keep everyone informed of the situation.

As always, for any concerns, advice and updates on your case; Talk to Thompsons.

An online seminar on asbestos litigation is to be extended to allow more people to take part due to high volume of demand. Thompsons Solicitors, the market leaders in asbestos litigation, is running the online tutorial which examines best practice around asbestos related claims.

The seminar was due to run for one weekend only but due to the popularity of this unique opportunity the seminar will now be available longer term. Thompsons has an unrivalled reputation when it comes to litigation of asbestos cases and our team of specialist solicitors share this expertise over the hour long seminar. The seminar explores the complexities around asbestos related cases and seeks to explain the practicalities of building this type of case.

Seeking compensation for victims of asbestos related illness has become increasingly complicated and over the one hour seminar various experts will explain the process of preparing a successful case. The seminar will offer practical advice to equip litigators with the facts they need, as well as reviewing the recent case law from the Supreme Court and the Court of Session.

Thompsons has seen a rise of cases since the landmark judgment and Partner Laura Blane, Head of Thompsons Lung Disease Department, says case numbers are still rising: “The onset of asbestos related diseases has yet to peak meaning new cases are appearing week on week. It is vital that sufferers have access to the best possible advice in pursuing claims and this seminar will go some way towards that.”

The seminar is free and went live on Friday 19th October. Anyone wanting to take part in the seminar can register at Thompsons Asbestos Online Seminar Registration.

The seminar accounts for one hour of CPD requirement for the litigation practitioner.
