A man has received compensation after being injured while working out at his local gym. He made the claim for compensation after breaking his foot.

He had been about to use a weights machine at the time of the accident. However, he noticed that there were two 20kg weights just sitting on top of the machine. As he took them off, one fell and landed on his foot. His foot was broken and he was forced to go to hospital.

This meant that he was unable to do his job as a self employed window cleaner for several weeks and as a result could not earn any money. It was then that he decided to seek compensation.

It was discovered that this was not the first time that an incident like this had occurred in the gym. He proceeded with his compensation claim on the ground that the gym did not have a proper safety regime in place. The gym agreed to settle and he received £5,200.
