A woman has received a large settlement after making a compensation claim following a car accident.  She made the claim after receiving multiple personal injuries in the car crash.

At the time of the car accident she had been driving home from university to spend Christmas with her family.  As she drove, a driver on the other side of road lost control of his vehicle and crashed into her car.  He had been driving too quickly and hadn’t being paying proper attention to the road.

As a result of the car accident the women fractured all of her limbs and also sustained a head injury.  Because of this she had to undergo many operations and was in hospital for several months.  This meant that she had to take a lot of time out of her studies at university. Despite the seriousness of her injuries, she has since managed to complete her degree and hopes to pursue a career in the film industry.

She made a compensation claim against the other driver’s insurer on the ground that he had not taken enough care to drive safely. The insurer agreed to settle and she received a compensation payment of £400,000.
