At Thompson’s we would like to reassure all our clients that as far as possible we are operating as normal. The health and safety of our staff and clients is our primary concern during this outbreak and as such we are reviewing the situation on a regular basis and will be adapting our working practices following government guidelines. However, we have had to make some minor changes to how we are doing things.

Following Government guidelines, we have temporarily closed all of our offices and our staff are now all working from home using secure technologies to ensure they are able to continue to progress with existing and new cases as normal. All face to face meetings have been cancelled, however we are continuing to hold these meetings via phone and video calls. All the team are contactable on their direct dial numbers and email should you need to speak with your solicitor, please do not hesitate to talk to us about anything during this time.

We know these are uncertain and unsettling times for many of our clients, and the wider population, and things might look a little different for the foreseeable future. But our focus remains on our dedication, knowledge and strength that we provide to all our clients. We will continue to provide updates over the coming days and weeks in accordance with official guidelines and to keep everyone informed of the situation.

As always, for any concerns, advice and updates on your case; Talk to Thompsons.

Scotland's leading personal injury and employment law specialists, Thompsons Solicitors, have been crowned both employment and litigation firm of the year at this year's Law Awards of Scotland.

Thursday night's double is an historic moment for the firm who have received five prestigious industry accolades in the last three years.

Tonight's awards for litigation firm of the year and employment firm of the year come after Thompsons won the Firm of the Year title at the Scott and co Legal Awards earlier this year.

The awards recognised the firm’s expertise in both employment and litigation, innovative approach to providing their clients with the best service and the strong values of social justice and community engagement that runs through their work.

Joint senior partner at Thompsons Solicitors, Syd Smith, said:

"We are delighted to win these two awards tonight.

"This historic double for Thompsons Solicitors is down to the hard work and dedication of every member of staff who each give the best service to our clients.

"Thompsons only ever represents the victims of injury and workplace injustice - these principles are at the heart of everything we do. These awards are for them and the trust that they put in our expert solicitors everyday.

"We constantly innovate to meet the needs of our clients’ and the community groups and organisations we serve.  It’s great that this has been recognised with these two awards.”

Head of Thompsons’ award winning Employment Rights Unit and partner, Rory McPherson, said:

"My team and I are delighted to win this award.

"In this economic climate it is so important that workers' rights are respected. Whether it’s through the courts or campaigning, Thompsons do everything possible to make sure people are respected at work.

“Our experts cover a whole host of areas of employment law from redundancy to equal pay.  In every case we do our utmost to get the best for our clients.

"The firm is all about our clients. These awards are for them and we will continue to put them at the heart of what we do at Thompsons Solicitors."

Partner at the Firm and an expert in personal injury law, Patrick McGuire, said:

“To have won five awards in the last three years is an incredible achievement and a credit to our clients and our dedicated staff who make Thompsons what it is.

“We are always on the side of the victims of injury, injustice and industrial disease and we adapt to ensure they get the best advice and services to meet their needs.

“It is incredibly important to us that our clients get the full compensation they deserve in the shortest possible time to get their lives back on track.
